It's important to understand that there are degrees of understanding. We begin with word recognition, learning to identify and comprehend the vocabulary of the Quran. From there, we build towards a richer, more layered understanding.
The Quran is the pinnacle of the Arabic language, and scholars for centuries have dedicated their lives to comprehending it at deeper levels through grammar, morphology, rhetoric, law, poetry, and tafseer (Quranic exegesis). These are all part of the broader journey that Arabic study opens up for you.
Nuqta is for anyone who can read Arabic script but doesn't yet understand what they're reading. You don't need any grammar knowledge, just the ability to read the script. Nuqta starts where the alphabet ends.

You should see progress within the first week. However, there is no shortcut to learning Arabic. It takes years of dedicated study to reach a level of full comfort. The key is to set yourself mini goals and work towards achieving them consistently.
There is a breaking point where things become much easier to recall, even after you've stepped away for a while. The goal is to make Arabic part of your lifestyle: reciting the Quran regularly, reading Arabic books, watching short Arabic clips, and reading Arabic articles are all part of the journey.
We focus on Quranic Arabic and classical Arabic to help you understand traditional texts including tafsir, hadith, and the Quran. We also use modern standard Arabic to build common vocabulary. Grammar concepts are taught through Quranic examples, so what you learn is immediately relevant to your reading. No false promises. You get what you put in.
Some of what you read in Nuqta is from classical works. Some we write ourselves. Everything is checked before it's shipped.
The Quran is the Uthmani text from Tanzil, shown in the QCF page fonts of the Madinah Mushaf, produced by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran from the calligraphy of Uthman Taha, and distributed by the Quran.com Foundation. We do not simplify the spelling, normalise the letters, or re-typeset the text. What you read is the text as it is written.
Grammar is taught through real examples from the Quran, hadith, and classical texts rather than invented sentences. Any content used in a lesson is checked by our in-house scholars before it is published.
The graded reading curriculum is a traditional one, taught in seminaries across the world. We have kept that path intact, and alongside it we write our own stories and texts built around common vocabulary to accelerate your learning. Passages are curated, selected, and graded by our team: graded readers, hadith, classical Arabic stories, and works of Islamic scholarship across a range of topics. Classical sources are translated in full.
We then weave each passage, so Arabic sits inside the English and increases as your level rises, until you are reading the original. You can read more about the research and the science behind this here.
We hold our own lexicon, built on the classical works, including Lane's Lexicon and Hans Wehr. Every entry carries the root, part of speech, verb form, and meaning. Word roots and grammatical analysis draw on the Quranic Arabic Corpus.
We use AI where it helps and never where it decides. Narration for reading passages is synthesised. We use the best models available and check the pronunciation ourselves, correcting anything the model gets wrong, so every passage is accurate and engaging to listen to.
